FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIAN WATERS

SNAPPER
Bait- Pilchards would be the most commonly used bait,but other good baits include cuttlefish,squid,octopus and fresh fillets of fish like tommies and mackeral.
Places- Whyalla, Wallaroo, Port Augusta, Ceduna, Streaky Bay and Adelaide. |
MULLOWAY (JEWFISH)
Bait- Anglers fishing from the beach of rocks use whole pilchards or larger baits like salmon fillets and squid heads. Calmer estuary conditions allow the use of live baits such as trumpeters,mullet,gar,salmon trout,chow and slimy mackeral. Large metal lures or around 100grams are popular at the Murry Mouth.
Places- Salt Creek, Coorong, Goolwa Beach, Port River, Brown Beach, Ceduna and many more

YELLOWTAIL KINGFISH
Bait- Live gar,slimy mackeral,squid but they also take fresh dead baits like pilchards and cuttlefish.
They will also take lures and large flies.
Places- Point Lowly, Port Augusta and more

AUSTRALIAN SALMON
Baits- Pilchards are the best bait,cut or whole but other successful baits include garfish, frogmouth pichards, whitebait and cockles. Lure fishing can also be successful.
Places- Browns Beach, ceduna, Adelaide, and more

BLUE GROPER
Bait- The best bait is a crab
Places- Found around reef and rock locations
|
BREAM
Bait- cut pilchards, prawns, marine worms, small crabs,cockle and whitebait.Also small minnow lures such as the Attack lure work great.
Places- Onkaparinga River, Port River,West Lakes,boat harbors like O'Sullivan Beach,West Beach and Wirrina.

KING GEORGE WHITING
Bait- Cockle is the most commonly used bait, along with tenderised squid, marine worms and peeled prawn.
Places- Adelaide, Whyalla, Kangaroo Island and more

Places- Found right along the coasts beaches

Bait- Metal jags with tommies,gar and pilchards on the work well, so do squid jigs
