Shimano is proud to present the new Calcutta TE
TE stands for "Total Efficiency" a concept that represents the ultimate response to the two main challenges of the sport of fishing: casting and retrieving. For the first time indeed, Shimano's Super Free System and High Efficiency Gearing are married in one reel.
First, on the casting side, the Super Free Pinion Gear System of the new Calcutta TE virtually eliminates friction against the spool shaft, allowing you to cast farther with less effort.

The structural integrity of the Catala 200 and 300 is assured with the use of a die-cast one-piece aluminum frame, with four bearings for smooth casts and retrieves. The 4.7:1 gear ratio will give you power to land big fish, with a spool diameter large enough to quickly recover line at each turn of the handle. The Catala comes equipped with Shimano Variable Brake System to minimize over-runs, as well as a clutch bar that allows your thumb to be on the spool at all times for better control. Match this with a Super Stopper roller bearing for instant hook-sets, and you get the Catala, a great all around choice reel for the demanding angler.

The new Cardiff is the essence of what a round reel should be: strong, responsive, and easy to use.
The Cardiff 100 is built with a die-cast aluminum frame and a machined aluminum spool for strength. Deep anodized stamped side plates help inhibit corrosion in a saltwater environment. The reel's responsiveness lies in Shimano's Super Stopper as well as a high 5.8:1 gear ratio perfectly suited to fish lures such as worms or jigs which require a high-speed retrieve. Control over backlashes and free spool is complete thanks to Shimano's Variable Brake System (VBS). VBS is easily accessible on the right side-plate, allowing you to adjust your brake weights quickly without removing the spool.
